Great Moving Experience with AQMS

We could not have been more pleased with the service we received from AQMS during our recent move from California to Arizona. We have lived in our house for 45 years and was dreading on how we were going to get everything we wanted to take to our new home. We asked friends for referrals, searched the internet and narrowed it down to 5 companies we wanted a bid from. We would read horror stories of property being damaged, undisclosed or hidden costs that you don’t find out until they are ready to unload the truck. After interviewing and getting quotes from 5 moving companies we choose AQMS that we found on the internet. They were not the lowest price, and neither were they the highest. We choose AQMS over the others because of their responsiveness to follow-up questions, getting the quote back to us when they said they would, the thoroughness in going through our house and opening up cupboards and closets to see what we would be taking with us. Dan Chapman, Commercial and National Account Manger for AQMS then set down with my wife and I and went over a brochure explaining about the Company and how the Company were Professionals we can trust. Dan struck us as a man of integrity and someone that would make to move as stress free as possible. Dan was able to have the truck pick up some of our boxes at a nearby location for a reasonable cost, give us an extra day before arriving to unload in Arizona. Dan was the main deciding factor for going with AQMS. Then comes moving day! Mike the truck driver and his crew showed up on time and were all very polite and friendly. It was amazing to watch them work. They wrapped all our furniture in protective covers and shrink wrapped everything that was not in a box. They worked together as a team and seemed to be enjoying what they were doing. This went far beyond anything we were expecting. Mike the truck driver was very nice and any concerns that we brought to him, he would say, no problem don’t worry. He completely set our minds at peace. It was actually an enjoyable experience. The unloading of the truck in Arizona went well also. Mike couldn’t believe how close Dan’s estimated weight was to the actual weight. He was only a couple hundred pound under the estimate. There were no surprises, not hidden fees, it was perfect. A couple of weeks after the move we got a call from Dan wanting to know if everything went well with the service AQMS provided. We would recommend this company without reservation to anyone!!!!! THANK YOU AQMS Bill

At every single touch point, the team at AQMS delivered above and beyond. We reached out to several companies to get quotes and they were the most professional, courteous, and quick company to deal with. They were consistent about following up with us without being pushy or too salesy, and when we were ready to get started, they were on the ball to get back to us with answers to our questions and the details we needed. Dan came out to our home to help give us an estimate, and he was extremely friendly and accurate. Our move actually came in under the estimate, which was a nice surprise. The movers who came to our home were all very friendly and professional. They were working extremely hard from the get-go but you could tell they cared about what they were doing. Overall, my husband and I were very happy with the move and, heaven forbid we need to move again soon, we wouldn't choose anyone else.

Legalized Thievery!

In October of 2012 at the recommendation of my realtor I hired AQMS for my move to Portland. I needed only short term storage for my goods to be moved - approximately 2 weeks. Upon receiving a quote I was told that my goods would be placed and stored in vaults, then loaded on a truck for delivery. I asked, "Like PODS?" And was told, "Yes." I assumed once put into the vaults the goods would not be handled again until arrival at my new home. A month later when they finally arranged for shipment and the truck was unloaded many major items were very obviously missing - beds, washer, dryer, refrigerator, and MANY boxes. I climbed up into the truck to see for myself that none of those things were there and saw that my things had NOT been loaded aboard in vaults as I'd been told but were shoved in among other people's belongings. I was told that the rest would be delivered ASAP at no cost to me. Also, at that time I noted that some furniture items had been badly damaged but the driver pointed out codes on their inventory sheets indicating general scratches on every item that was not upholstered. Even the upholstered items were described in code as soiled- which they weren't. Several upholstered items had not even been wrapped. Thus covering themselves should any real damage occur!When I spoke to Amber in their office about the multitude of missing items she described the loading of my goods from storage as a horrible all day thing that was complete chaos. Two weeks later I received another shipment which was very reluctantly delivered/dumped off. In checking off the inventory I was still missing 17 boxes and a set of bookshelves. None of the missing items were of a personal nature, such as pictures, clothing, etc. but items that could be easily used or sold. During both deliveries it was clear from the phone calls I overheard that the drivers and AQMS were blaming each other for the botched deliveries and missing goods. I contacted Casey Kirkman at AQMS and he emailed me that they "would make it right." Nevertheless, I was farmed off to deal with their Chicago headquarters who were completely apathetic. I asked what I could do to help identify boxes with descriptions, etc. to get at least some of my things back and would consistently get a rote reply,"You do have nine months from time of delivery to file your claim." I was missing SO much that it literally made me nauseous as I compiled a very long list. A list, which of course, was incomplete as it's impossible to remember the contents of 17 boxes. The total of what I could remember of the missing items amounted to roughly $6500. In April 2014 I FINALLY received a very inadequate check from National Van Lines for all of my missing and damaged goods without any indication of an apology. I

Terrible Movers

Paid to have movers pick up my furniture from a three bedroom house and deliver it to a two bedroom condo. Three clowns, Huey, Dewey, and Louie appeared. (True names were Sugtia, Clum and Charles, the person who wrote their names down wasn't legible in his writing). Anyway, they came and pick up my belongs and delivered it to my new residence in the same city. It was obvious they were high on something, but I was in a hurry to get out of the home. Well the problem was once they started unloading my stuff, I notice a lot of my furniture was scuffed up, scratch missing hardware, punctured a whole in the wall and ceiling, about 12 different problems. Ben Strange agreed to have a repairman come out to fix the damages, as it was cosmetic repairs. The repairman did a great job of repairing everything. However, Ben Strange instead of paying the full 60 cents per pound per item per the contract, swindled it down to below what the true weight was. For me this was pure deceit perpetrated by a company professing to be caring. I was originally quoted $500 firm price to move, but they charged me an additional $230.00 more. If you really want a reputable moving company, I would suggest you look elsewhere and get a firm written price or face being lied too. This is a bait and switch company out to fleece you.
