Very frustrating

My experience was awful and I do not recommend Alpha Moving to anyone. The chief of the crew was all the time very rude,and since the beginning has been trying to make additional money on us. He arrived telling that he had parked the truck in a forbidden place and we would have to pay all the fines and tickets (however,the contract set forth that all the tickets were Alpha Moving liability),that if the moving was late,he would charge us more,and by the end of the day we had a very hard time with him. We hired the crew to pack our kitchen stuff. They only packed one box and such box has disappeared. We have been trying almost 3 months to recover the box or have an insurance cover. It is our worst experience ever with a service provider in US

Pricing was good, I mean it was competitive and I was pretty much happy with the services. I only rate them 4 because I haven't received one of my boxes.

The experience was good in terms of things being picked up but after that when things were actually shipped and when they arrived things were not as good but other than that I was happy.

There were a lot of unexpected ...

A lot of unexpected charges. I was given a quote of $450 flat and everything they said were extra. It was pretty expensive at the end.

Criminal

They charged me $215 extra because they supplied (2) boxes, (2) rolls of tape and about 10SF of bubble wrap. Borderline criminal. Stay away at all costs.

They came in on time and pretty fast and really efficient, so I really liked it.

The guys were very professional. Whatever you asked them to move they did. I was satisfied. I will use them again.

The person who had quoted us had not ...

The move itself went very well. They packed everything, we used their whole packing service. So the move in itself went very well however after they had packed all of our stuff up and put it on the truck, the person who had quoted us had not quoted us enough. So it ended up being a fairly sizable amount more money than we initially thought. [The movers] were alright, they were you know very few words. They just came in got to work, did what they had to do, and that was it. There was one little piece of furniture that was damaged but the guy that delivered the furniture was able to fix it. It was $900 more. Well at first it was $1200 more, they did [break it down for us]. The guy even came over and looked at our apartment and he missed like big huge pieces of furniture. I understand how this works you know, they wanna give you a low quote so you'll use them and then once they have you [they'll switch].

Everything was fine

Everything was fine, no complaints about it you know it was good. Yes I did receive [packing services] before and they did [wrap the furniture]. No [there was] no damage or nothing. They did fine, they did good. Yea they did [give me a price quote but] I paid a little bit more because it took a little bit extra time because traffic and stuff like that, so you know I understand.

I was like they were there for you, ...

The fastness that they did everything, you know they charge you by hour.. the professionalism. They made space for everything, it was like they were there for you and not just to make the money.

Efficient, quick and careful!

When they came they were efficient, they were quick, they were careful, they were professional, everything was packed to our satisfaction so it was fine.

Flexible, courteous, and professional.

Very responsive in e-mails/follow-up. We had to adjust our delivery schedule and they were flexible. Their rates were attractive. The people they sent for moving were courteous and professional.

Did not tell me the complete price

The move went fine but they did not tell me the complete price. They charged me a wrong price. Initially they gave me a quote but once the move was done they told me all these additional charges. Before booking them for the move I asked them so many times and they said that this was the final price. Once everything was done they said for traveling you have to pay this much and for gas you have pay this much, so they charged around like 100 dollars more. Nothing was damaged, the moving part was fine but the price change was not.

The move went smoothly, nothing broken.

They were good, they were professional. The only thing is that they did not have good follow-up skills, but the move went smoothly. I have no complaints, nothing was broken and we got everything.

It was very very bad experience

He said in the beginning when I made a reservation, he $350, once the movers were there and took the furniture in the truck they said $500. When I told them no I'm not gonna pay the $500 so can you give my furniture back, they started cursing and then when I called the owner of this company he cursed my religion, he cursed at me, and cursed everything. I made a report and I called the cops. It was very very bad experience, it was unbelievable and unprofessional.......

cheap company

Very professional company, oh very professional individuals. Everybody do their jobs for their incentive not for customer. Estimation guy (Michael Bondi) will estimate, marketing person (Heather) will negotiate and Delivery guys will be coming for delivery. Funny part is that nobody talks to each other at all. Estimate guy will give the estimate and commit the stuff as per client need and further Heather will agree on certain inventory since she needs to show the addition in her list. Some details like 2 matters will be considering as one king bed only will be committed in discussion but delivery guys will not be ready for that. In short, there were not a change in inventory in term of cubic feet but delivery guy want to refer the list what he had received and start asking 1000 dollar more. infect few items were dropped, I think he came only for that discussion. After 20 minute discussion just left saying my boss does not want to do business with you. Anyway, my suggestion is here to look for someone who is in really looking for long term moving business not like Alpha.

The company was very trustworthy and ...

They were very good. It was wonderful. They came on time, they packed everything efficiently, they moved us and the estimate was actually over what we had to pay. I had a very good experience. I would recommend them, they're a trusted company, very professional.

I was just a little frustrated

I was really unhappy that there were a lot of hidden charges. I talked to them at length about exactly what I had and exactly what I wanted to do and they provided me with a quote but they didn't include that they needed to package my bed. I just said, you knew I was moving a bed, it was part of my quote, so why didn't you include that packaging fee in my quote? I was just a little frustrated by that. The movers were great, the people who were there were wonderful--but the customer service, everyone I talked to from the office was very rude and unpleasant, difficult to communicate with.

Very good

They were very flexible with their price. Very nice, very professional. They came in and got it done in one hour. My husband was watching and there was no damage. We're thinking of moving in the next two, two and a half years and I kept their number.

Very professional movers, but the ...

They were very professional and it was painless. Everything went smoothly and their pricing was on the high side and I got a few supplies, so they added an extra fee that we weren't expecting. I guess it's normal between movers, but I think it wasn't laid out properly, how much material they were going to use. I wasn't expecting it to be that for the materials they used to prepare the packing. The customer service was very good though, it is a very good company. My advice to future customers would be to be careful with the packing material. They should give you a better estimate on the materials because the moving price was $2,000 and the materials was $1,000 so the total cost of the materials was 1/3 of the whole moving cost, which I think is too high.

Great service

They did everything correctly, they did it on-time and they didn't damage anything -- they were really good overall. Their price was reasonable and really good for the services they provided. The customer service was really good too and I would recommend them to friends and family.

Average move

It was okay. They came here and then I felt like there was something missing. We found them anyways but they missed my heater at the beginning. There was some issue there and then they didn't really specify how big the box should be. All my boxes were large. Although they didn't really specify the size of the box, they told me it was a medium. So they charged me extra. I called the manager and they gave me a discount. There was a huge discrepancy to what a large box means. For me it was a large box, they said it was a medium, but it was not specified. I did receive all the services that I requested but they used my bubble sheet instead of theirs. And then they charged me a lot for their material. They charged me for probably 10 tapes and they charged me $900 which is kind of a rip-off. They didn't unpack. They packed it and then they charged me for it. I thought it included unpacking also. I wasn't here when they came because I moved later than they did. They didn't unpack for me. They are supposed to unpack for me but that didn't happen. I would recommend them if it's a local move and if they don't have much to move. If they have a lot, I won't recommend this company. For a family size of less than two, I would recommend them because it is usually simple and they are not horribly wrong. Then they are willing to guarantee that satisfaction. That was the good part. I would not recommend them for the big move.

The workers were very professional and they took a lot of pride in caring for my furniture. The price was reasonable for me. I did receive all the services that I requested. I would recommend them to others. Packing was done to my satisfaction.

Great Service

After hearing and reading some horror stories about moving, we didn't know what to expect We chose Alpha Moving because of treat reviews. On August 27 we moved our home from Clifton NJ to Butler NJ. 4 men arrived, the one in charge talked to us for just a few minutes, but the other 3 men got to work right away. All 4 men worked practically non-stop, they were very quiet, polite and very professional. Not even one item was lost or broken. The big surprise was when the man in charge handed us back $65 because they finished ahead of time!!! Wow! That's honest service. We would definitely recommend Alpha Moving.

Very personable movers

My moving experience was very good. The movers were very personable, very friendly, they worked hard didn't mess around, got everything done. The prices were reasonable. I received all the services that I requested. Packing was done up to satisfaction. I don't have any suggestions for them, they were good. The staff members were excellent, on-time and friendly.

Quick, efficient and careful movers

My experience was good with this movers. They were very quick, efficient and careful. The prices were reasonable. My items got delivered safely at my destination. I think they need to be more transparent about, I don't think because they say that certain things are additional like tape or whatever and so the average person does not knows how much tape is used during moving. I think they really need to be transparent enough to let them know like we use lot of tape for moving and it will be additional fee this is how much it will cost typically and I think I have tape. But he used 30 rolls of tape and you may need 30 rolls of tape like if you do not move everyday, who is going to know that. Like I said they were good, very efficient, quick and movers were on-time so there wasn't problem and they actually finished it early. The crew members behaved very good and very professional.

Excellent service

They were excellent. It was pretty good. They were nice company. It is pretty good. They are helpful. They come exactly on the time and helped us a lot. They are pretty fast like we moved to the city. They are pretty fast while driving the truck and once we reached here, they helped us to put everything. They carry all the stuff nicely. There is no damage or nothing. They did the entire moving in three hours. I think it is pretty good. Yes I felt price was excellent, reasonable. It worked with me. The crew members behavior was pretty good. They were helpful for me. Looks like they were very active and doing the service from long time. Looks like they have very good experience in this field.

Effecient and careful

Experience was good. They were efficient and handled everything carefully. I think price was little bit high. Once I moved and saw some charges that were added. They mentioned about it but it was a little bit higher for me. The crew members were very good. Yes, perfectly on time. Packing was done to my satisfaction. No advice for customer service team. They did very nice.

Hard-working crew

They arrived on time when they said they would, and they called numerous times to confirm that they were coming in the days before. The furniture move was just from one floor of my house to the other. Even though it was not a destination move, they did it quickly and they did everything efficiently, so I was pleased with them. I thought that the prices were reasonable when I compared them with the other quotes I got from other companies. Nothing was broken and if I look up the reviews, they have some bad reviews. So, I was really worried about them, but it seems like they were really working hard to overcome their bad reviews, and I didn't have any complaints about them. 

Highly disappointing move

They did leave a lot to be desired. They were rude and very unclear as to what I needed and when to have it ready. My husband had prepacked everything. We were ready to prepack our TV and they advised us not to pack it and that they would do it. At no point in time did they say that for prepacking our TV in our own box, will they were going to charge. At the end of the move I felt they were dragging time to increase the charge. At the start the representative didn't say anything about the fact that if we were paying by credit card, it was gonna cost us more. Even though they were three movers, my husband helped them in loading.
