STAY AWAY!!!

This company is a joke! The process started of pleasant and they sucked us in. The woman that took inventory of our stuff in the house quoted us $7,000 and when the movers arrived it ended up being $14,000. there was no confusion, and nothing missed when discussing the amount of furniture in the home during the estimating process. this was the first snag in the process THE PRICE WAS DOUBLE. the truck they showed up with was not nearly big enough and they showed up with inly two people to pack up a 3500 SQFT house in one day? This was due to the fact that they missed the scheduled day that them made with us the prior day so they had to reschedule for the next day. Since they did not have enough people to do the move they posted an ad on craigslist to get help out to the house to pack everything up. no background checks, no idea who these people were. they had to bring in another truck to load everything up and they were there late in to the night getting everything packed up. People in the office are very hard to get a hold of once they have your money and when we explained to the "manager" what the issues were he just kind of blew them of like they were no big deal. we have had to contact them 100% of the time because they never call back when they say they are going to call back. now it is delivery time and I am crossing my fingers that things start going right, but no such luck! We tried to schedule a date to get delivered and due to the COVID they cannot find a driver so after two weeks of being in our home and sleeping on air mattresses we still have no date for delivery. (this is actually understandable due to world events out of their control). the issue with this is the complete lack of communication. I have continuously had to call and see if there are any updates. I finally today received a call from a driver? he stated he would be getting me my stuff on the next day. I was a little shocked with the one day notice but was excited to get my things so I thought LETS DO THIS. He asked me how I would be paying the remaining $7,000 balance and I told him I would be giving him a certified check. he then proceeded to tell me they didn't take certified checks and asked me to pay him the $7,000 in cash. IN CASH? when I told him no and told him I already had the check in hand he texted my wife and said oh I made a mistake and confused you with someone else and I will not be delivering your stuff tomorrow. here I am back in the dark. I have no idea when I will be getting my things, and frankly am very concerned that I am not gong to get them at all. I cant seem to get anywhere speaking to management, and this whole process is by far them most shady thing I have ever been through in my life. I pray to god I am not being scammed and I will get my things soon. I hope someone sees this review and can help me get somewhere on this and take this seriously. I will update this review as soon as i get a final result.

Communication was excellent and customer service was responsive to our questions. They were fast and efficient with their work. They were able to give us a discount and save some bucks for other use. Their crew of movers were nice, kind, prompt and professional to work with, they were able to take good care of our things and deliver them in good condition. I had a tight schedule for when I needed to move, so when they had trouble with getting me to fit into the schedule they rented another truck to send specifically for me. The guys at Cross States Moving did my move from North Carolina to Florida and I could not be happier. I didn't know what to expect because I never used a mover but from the time I spoke to Michael, he made me feel comfortable and I hired him. The men he sent did a great job and Nelson was awesome.
