Unfortunately, the moving industry as a whole has earned a bad reputation for good reason. ,
You see, when moving companies provide phone estimates and computer-generated estimates, they’re just that—they’re Non-binding Estimates--based on the information YOU supply. And because youre responsible for providing an accurate inventory, the phone- and computer generated estimates some companies provide are so hyper-optimistic, they’re predatory, especially now.
Whenever possible, we encourage you to schedule a free, no obligation, on-site survey not only with us, but with three unaffiliated moving companies prior to deciding which one suits you best.
If the sales representative you call balks and suggests they’re unnecessary, hang up and call the next company—one that asks where and when it would be convenient for you--for your own protection. Heres why:
A whole new set of rules, regulations and consumer-protection laws take effect once a sales representative steps foot inside your home—explaining why some representatives say whatever is necessary to avoid on-site surveys, with their interests in mind.
To start, youre protected by the 110% Rule.
While moving companies estimate weight, quote rate, this rule requires that we estimate the weight of your shipment accurately, because if our estimated weight is amiss by more than 10%, we must, by law, relinquish possession of ALL your property and provide an additional 30 days to pay the balance, which may never happen if you feel you were deceived with malicious intent.
Secondly, the sales representative is assessing everything first-hand. If we spot a flat screen television, for example, exceeding 42 inches, or a mechanical bed, riding lawnmower, whatever additional handling charges may apply are negotiable, at that point--provided the outcome of those negotiations are documented!
While Earth-Friendly Moving, Inc, might be new to Chicago, technically speaking, were hardly new to the industry.
Assuming you have questions, call us. Were here to help!
Quality of Service Guarantee:
Every sales representative will promise, verbally, the following service. We’re happy to guarantee it in writing—or your move is 100% free.
At no additional cost to you, we guarantee our seasoned, expert-level moving specialists shall take every possible precaution to protect your valuables while handing, from the weather during load and off-load, and while in transit:
• To maximize accountability, the same moving specialists who load your valuables at your Point of Origin shall be the same moving specialists who off-load your valuables at your Point of Destination.
• They shall: Utilize hardwood floor protection, door-jam protection, banister protection and rug-runners;
• Stretch-wrap standard mattresses and fabric sofas for protection from soil and the weather at no additional expense to you.
• Pad and stretch-wrap all furniture, top to bottom, side to side, front and back, prior to removing it from your home rather than merely draping pads over select furniture in the truck.
• Leather furniture shall be padded first and then stretch-wrapped so that it can “breath,” and to help protect it during foul weather.
• Fabric furniture, such as sofas and chairs, shall be stretch-wrapped at no additional expense to you.
• Appliances shall be padded while aboard the truck.
• Furniture shall be strapped while aboard the truck to prevent damage caused by load-shift while in transit.
• Each dining room chair shall be padded and tied off individually,
• Reassemble standard furniture such as beds,
• Earth-Friendly Moving, Inc shall never put your interests at significant risk by brokering your shipment to another carrier.
While all this prep-work may sound time-consuming and expensive, bear in mind that repairing and replacing your furniture is far more expensive. Since we charge based on the weight of your shipment, not the time it takes to prep and load, there is no additional cost involved--only knowing that your furniture is being cared for by seasoned professionals with absolute precision--guaranteed.
Ready to receive a free, no-obligation, on-site quote for your upcoming state-to-state relocation?
We look forward to providing it!
