Rushed and Overcharged
In May 2021, I've contacted h2h based on the great reviews, got a quote, and scheduled our move for June 26th. In the meanwhile, we've decided that bringing our bed was not worth it in that it increased our cubic feet total, adding about $450 dolars, and causing us to get a larger shuttle, costing us another $150. On June 24th, more than 48 hours before the move (their deadline for inventory changes), I've updated the inventory, emailed Lyuda and Valerie, and, getting no response over phone, left them a voicemail. On the scheduled day, they picked our furniture and put them in storage as we requested. Flash forward to the day of our move in Boston...H2H called us *on the very day of the move*--not 24 hours in advance, as their company policy indicates. Stella was pushy about delivering the furniture on that day, too, and told me that there would be extra charges if we did not accept the move. I'll just let you imagine the panic this causes to a family with a toddler--I had to get a day off work, we had to find a way of not getting our son injured from the constant move of large boxes, it was hell. I also realized that the total amount was much higher than I remembered, and told this to Stella. She insisted that I pay at that moment and assured me that they'd go over the charges afterwards. After the move finished, we realized that we were charged for the previous quote, which included our bed. In other words, we were charged $600 more than we were supposed to. When I reached out to Stella and explained the situation, she argued that there were extra items on our list. Movers, as you might know, regularly disassemble table legs as a space-saving strategy. I couldn't believe my ears when Stella tried to use these "extra items" as a justification for the extra charges. Also, she insisted that shuttle prices are not determined by total cubic feet, which is a complete misrepresentation of their company policy. I've provided Stella with pictures of the final bill and items she did not recognize from our quote (the quote she shared with us included the bed, of course). I've been repeatedly told that the manager (Lyuda) would contact me, but received no calls whatsoever. This is why I said at the beginning that this is just another company with no care for what is right or wrong. They are only after your hard-earned dollars, and once they get the cash completely ignore your calls. I'd look elsewhere for your upcoming move.
