Hanging pictures and paintings
To decide how and where to hang pictures in your home, first arrange your furniture the way you want it so you can see which walls look blank and empty. Pick one wall to be your focal point and start there. Measure the wall and find a picture or painting that is big enough to fill the space but not so big it overpowers the wall.

Making a gallery wall
If you don't want a huge piece of artwork, you can also consider a gallery wall. Take smaller pictures and paintings and arrange them like an art gallery. The frames themselves and the arrangement will become part of the artwork.
