Not good moving experience with this ...

I never give reviews about companies I have done business with but, I decided to make an exception after my recent experience with American Van Lines. In short, it was an overall terrible experience and the worst relocation of several that I have conducted resulting in multiple broken and lost items. American Van Lines never mentioned that they were a broker for other moving services OR that there was any possibility that they may hire a third party to conduct the relocation of my household items. That is exactly what they did (without ever alerting me to it) and the company that showed up to conduct my move was as far away from a professional operation as possible. They were nice people but, were terrible movers. They did not have their own equipment (they showed up with a rented box truck) and the individuals that moved my items had just been hired off the street an hour before pick up. It was exactly the same scenario on the delivery side. The name of the third party company hired without my knowledge is Nu Lyfe Relocation Services. Again, nice enough people but, a less than professional moving company. Basically, American Van Lines quoted me for them to conduct my move and then immediately turned around and farmed the work out to the lowest bidder in order to maximize their profit. My guess is that this was not the first time they have done this. It most likely will not be the last so, caveat emptor to individuals reading this review as they consider who to hire for their relocation. Whatever you do, do not do business with American Van Lines.
