STAY AWAY!!!! LIED TO, OVERCHARGED AND ...
NEGATIVE FIVE STARS. MULTIPLE MISREPRESENTATIONS AND USE OF HIGH-PRESSURE TACTICS. AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!!! THE MOVE ESTIMATE: Dan Berman (The Owner) came to our house to estimate the move. He quoted a not to exceed price as well as an hourly rate. The not to exceed estimate was significantly higher ($600+) than competitors but we went with him on our realtor's recommendation. However, we were told that the price would be reduced if we packed some of the boxes ourselves and moved some stuff independently. After the estimate and before the move, we sold, gave to charity or moved out approximately 1/3 of the items in the house including a dining table, a sofa, chairs, TVs, and a king size bed. We packed 95% of our stuff in boxes and left only items that could not be packed in boxes because of size. Because of our effort, we expected a commensurate 1/3rd reduction of cost or something to that effect. More importantly, we were told that the move would be efficient, without hassle. As an executive at a Fortune 100 and my wife a psychologist with a heavy patient load, we did not have time to supervise the move or deal with the details. We made that clear to the estimator. THE MOVE OUT(Began at 8:00 a.m.): It occurred like a circus. Daniel, the foreman, came in, with his crew and spent 30 minutes surveying (not moving things). He then handed me the contract and asked me to exclude almost 100 item in my house line by line from insurance coverage OR THEY WOULD NOT MOVE IT (MOVING FRAUD/EXTORTION #1). First off, I was getting ready for work and expected that I would not be bothered. I expected them to move the stuff. Period. Moreover, I did not expect that I had to re-read and renegotiate the contract WITH THE THREAT OF NOT GOING FORWARD (MOVING FRAUD/EXTORTION #2). On top of that, he said those items would need to be individually wrapped and cost an additional $10 to $30 each adding up to more than $1000 extra on top of the estimate OR THEY WOULD NOT MOVE IT (MOVING FRAUD/EXTORTION #3). Meanwhile, his crew moved boxes into the truck. We had no opportunity to back out without a back up moving company in place. We had to hand over the keys to the new owner by 5 P.M. Every 5 minutes the foreman or crew bugged me with questions, found new items to charge me more with and/or showed me minor existing scratches on the furniture. I spent 1 1/2 hours dealing with this annoyance. 5 HOURS LATER(1 p.m.): I get a call from the foreman. They said the truck was full AND I NEEDED TO MOVE THE REMAINING STUFF MYSELF. (WTF!?!) I rushed home from work and broke all my afternoon appointments. WE ARE NOT MOVERS. I will post of a video of what was remaining (IT WAS A LOT..approximately 1/4 of our stuff). He said WE WOULD HAVE TO REWRITE THE CONTRACT IF WE WANTED TO MOVE THE REST. HE WAS HOLDING US HOSTAGE YET AGAIN. I immediately complained to management. At that point, the owner (Dan Berman) accused us of bringing more stuff into the house and "P
