BEWARE!!! FRAUD & EXTORTION

Recently, I had arranged movers to transport 5 items from my STUDIO apartment to a 1 bedroom apartment. The quote I was given was $250 for a 2 bedroom apartment. I question the gentleman on the phone regarding the inaccuracy of the unit size and I was assured that my final price would reflect the studio more accurately; especially since I outlined to them in advance that would only be moving 5 items and I was only moving 1.5 miles. After arriving to the starting location, I was instructed by the two movers that I needed to disassemble the items and move my things to the door. This was surprising to me since it clearly stated in the contract that they would handle all moving, assembly, and disassembly. After the truck was loaded and we reached the final location the two movers began moving items in as slowly as possible and only used one hand at a time (even for extremely light parts). In fact, the were moving so slowly that we realized it was intentional. This realization came when one gentleman took a break to sit on the truck and text/smoke (I was lucky enough to snap a picture of these acts). As a result, my mother and father (which have a knee replacement) began moving things as well; since we realized this sluggish behavior was intentional to drive up the bill. Before my most valuable items were removed from the truck they shared with me that my bill would be double of what was estimated for the 2 bedroom. Please keep in mind that I was moving a studio, and the final price was double that of a 2 bedroom! After confronting them about the malicious charges, they locked the truck and informed me that they would be keeping my things in storage, and I would receive a bill for the storage and transportation until the original bill was paid (this seems like theft to me). AFTER paying the bill, I was then informed that I would still not receive my things without signing some very malicious paperwork that attempted to protect them from this type of extortion. After signing the document, the movers proceeded to remove the remaining items from the truck and leave them on the street. Before I could return to the street to check progress, the movers had vanished. My things were all over the street, my items had not been reassembled, and they had severely damaged my apartment from what appeared to be the result of metal objects being tossed across the living room. I have attempted to resolve this dispute with their internal department, however, they do not have such a department and will not answer my calls (caller ID I assume). It is clear to me that the services were not fulfilled and this malicious behavior is a clear example of extortion.

They were fantastic!

They were great! We had more stuff than we intended to move and it was a big mess - we were cleaning out an older person's apartment and there was so much junk. So we had to get a truck to take out the trash. They were fantastic! They moved it from an apartment to a storage company, I don't have anything bad to say about them!
