Use and Lose: you will be robbed

Please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I moved in September 2013 about a mile from my old place. They arrived an hour late. I had already packed and sealed everything in boxes that I needed them to move. Yet they decided to take an open box full of things they told me they couldn't move (cleaning products) seal it and charge me for it. That was the least of my troubles. They somehow ignored the bike I had near the door that needed to be moved yet very "kindly" asked if I needed my jewelry box and stereo equipment moved. I declined because those were things I was moving myself, and had them in a closet, and out of the way. They packed my TV in its original box, but left the stand in my old place and I never saw the screws that held them together again. I had to replace them. They got lost travelling the mile to my new place because did not write the address down correctly. At my new place they asked me to pay before they started unloading. The amount was correct and I paid them. This part was actually fine. I have to point out a few things here. The 2 movers were Russian men. This becomes important later. I was in school online, and had moved my computers myself because I had to keep up with my work. I had 2 laptops out, one sitting on the other on a box near my pets' cage. Since I didn't have furniture I was sitting on the floor and using the box as a table. At some point I saw some moving blankets on that box, but didn't think anything of it. After they finished unloading one of the men said he forgot to charge me for some things and he hoped I'd give them a tip. Since I was out of cash, I gave them a check for $40. I figured one of them could cash it and give the other cash. Later that night I tried to do some homework, but one of my laptops was gone! I looked everywhere, and then thought of the moving blankets from before. I called them first thing the next day (Saturday) and told them I thought my laptop got accidentally caught in some blankets and could they please check the moving truck. They guy said he would check and then call me back. He never called. On Sunday I reported the laptop stolen and gave the serial number to the police. On Monday I got a call from the movers. He told me that he had gotten a voice mail from the police and decided to call me. He asked if I'd looked around for it and tried to discourage me from reporting. Several months later my laptop turned up in a pawn shop in Prince George's county, MD. The police returned it to me and said that they were getting a picture of the person who pawned it so I could try to ID him. My data was GONE, and replaced with lots of stuff in RUSSIAN! Parts of my laptop were also missing and I can't replace them since it was a 4 year old model. I had to very quickly replace the missing laptop or update my 10 year old Windows XP desktop so I could use the programs I needed for my online classes. They Left me Stranded. Never Came to ...

Please DO NOT use this company, First of all - I paid a deposit 3 weeks in advance for this company to move me from one apartment to another. They assured me they were going to be at my old apartment at 9:00 in the morning. They never came. I called all day and they kept on assuring me that they were on their way - they had a move prior to me that was taking longer than expected. They NEVER came. My move was supposed to take place on the Friday ant the end of the month before a major holiday so they left me having to call frantically every moving company in Northern VA. I ended up with a great company and of course you now I had to pay much more than I should - but I got moved. Stay away from this compan

Worst experience ever

My main problem is that I don't think it was clear what the charges were. I have gone through the quote with them. I talked about the charge for gas and for the travel - it was $2 a mile and they gave it to me for $1.25, which was nice. So we talked about all of this ahead of time.... and they wrote in big letters on their quote in red letters - packing is free. Then when they show up at my door that day, they tell me it is $25 per box to cover the TV screen and $25 per blanket to wrap up each piece of furniture and I just don't think that was expressed clearly. I have used plenty of movers before and I thought it was a kind of rip-off. I never had any say in how many blankets and boxes they used, they just wrapped it up. I was very disappointed in that. I couldn't tell them to go away because I had to do the move. It kind of put me in a weird place. But maybe that was just me not reading the fine print. My real problem was the time-frame. So I had three guys come to my one-bedroom apartment. They packed up my one-bedroom apartment and then they were supposed to go to my storage unit and pack that up into the same truck - I had a 26-foot truck. So for a one-bedroom and a 10-by-15 storage unit - that should have easily fit into a 26-foot truck, and every one of the quotes said I would need a 26-foot truck. These gentlemen, they started at 12:30 and around 4:00 they had not finished my one-bedroom and the truck was full. And I don't have that much stuff. I found out later after they unpacked the truck that they had not packed it very well and the first five feet of the truck was full with their own stuff - their own packaging material - but it was a disaster in the back and that space was lost. What I ended up having to do was - they recommended that they can go faster if they hire another guy to meet us to help pack the truck. There was no room for anything. Now I am at 4:00 and we haven't even finished the apartment. We haven't even gone to storage unit to pack that up, let alone having to unpack. So I had them cancel the entire storage unit trip and I had them drive - when they were done with my one-bedroom and a full truck - directly to my new home. They had a fourth guy come, so I had to pay an additional $15 an hour for the fourth guy because they had taken so much time and they still took six or seven hours to do the whole thing for a one-bedroom. I even had to take the next day off of work and rent another U-Haul and drive a whole bunch of friends to help me move my 10-by-15 storage unit. The only reason that I know that this was completely over-the-top - and yeah, maybe you can say I have a lot of stuff - I moved from my house to that exact same storage unit with the same items when I moved in and I used a 26-foot truck and I had three people and it took maybe 5-6 hours. So I know that they were able to do those exact same locations with the same amount of mileage. I looked online afterwards and there was another person who wrote a review

Got everything done on time

It was fine. They were quick and nice and got everything done. They were very efficient. They got it done very quickly. I would recommend them. I did all the packing, so I only hired them for moving services. The estimate was very accurate, they were within a couple of dollars.

Very bad move

They gave me a quote and they started asking me for more money. They just worked for three hours and they charged me money for five hours. It was like I had to fight with them. I am a decent man, so I don't want to fight on the street. I just gave them the money. They didn't have any tools. Two guys they sent, they were very new to this country. They used to speak only Russian. They didn't even know English. They came with no tools and left everything like that. They broke my bed. They didn't have any screws, any driller machines, nothing. Somehow they took the nails and took off the bed and they didn't know how to assemble it back. So I had to buy a new bed. It was all a mess. I was about to call the police but those guys they pleaded with me like they came for some tourist visa or something like that. They would be in trouble - those poor guys, the Russian guys. That is the only reason I didn't call the police otherwise they will be put behind the bars. They are here on a tourist visa and working for a company. So for their sake I didn't call. That is why I didn't complain. Otherwise I would have called 9-1-1 and sent them up. This is what happened. One of the very very nastiest moves I ever made in my life. I thought of complaining to the authorities after that but in order to set my home up it took two to three weeks because they just left in a mayhem. After that I didn't get time to complain. I know there is a website that I can complain about the movers. We all are very hardworking people. We tend to focus more on work rather than going after this stuff.

The owner of this company is very rude, treats females like dirt, charged us more money than the original quote. Sent packers with no experience whatsoever! Did not know what they were doing , they only spoke Russian and no one could communicate with them ; we have to help thenm do ther job, otherwise they will never finish it . Left HHE stranded along hallways in our building that have to be sent back to the apt because they did not fit in the small, old and dirty truck that was provided. Items were left in the truck overnight because they did not make to the storage on time!! and the owner charged us for they incompetence and abuse. He blackmailed us urguing that if we did not pay him an extra $540.oo he would leave the HHE stuck in his truck.One of his employees told us he shouts and insults his clients. This man and his company should be barred from doing this kind of jobs. We were with the F.Service and moved around a lot. Never had an experience as bad as this. Please be aware of this company

No good

Horrible Experience. The did not even bring boxes and sent me out to purchase my own boxes! I actually had packed most of my own belongings and it still took them 10 hours to move a one bedroom apartment. The lead was rude, they were late, they raised the price and did not keep any of our contracted agreement. The guy in the office promised me a refund for the difference and never followed through! Stay away from this company!

The best movers I have ever seen or ...

I received a recommendation for Sky Limit Movers from a coworker, who was really happy with their services. Setting up my moving day appointment was quick and easy--I filled out the online form and they called very soon after to finalize the details. On moving day, Ben called about 10 minutes before they were scheduled to arrive to let me know they were on their way and would be there at 9:00. Ben and his partner (I can't remember his name--sorry!) were friendly, efficient, and very careful with our belongings. I have several antique and family pieces and I didn't feel worried at all that something was going to be damaged. They unhooked our washer and dryer as well, since we didn't have the tools to do that. Once we arrived at the new place, they carefully unloaded everything and put the items exactly where we wanted them. They even moved a few things from our garage into the upstairs bedroom. All in all, I was super pleased with both the service and price that I received from Sky Limit Movers. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is planning to move!

First class experience all the way!!!

The best word to describe Sky Limit Movers is Professionals. They move fast and waste no time at all, even though they're paid by the hour. They know exactly what they're doing with packing and protecting my furniture and boxes. They worked well together as a team when moving things around my house, lots of communication between them which led to no furniture ever touching my walls, door frames, etc. Brought all the tools they needed, and the tools were in good working condition and clean. As far as the people themselves: they're clean, so I didn't have to worry about dirt on my walls and floors; they're extremely nice people and were very accommodating. I felt like I'd asked a couple of my friends to help me. I would move with Sky Limit Movers again in a heartbeat.

horrilbe company!!!!

worst moving company i have ever experienced. did not honor the quote they emailed me and that i approved. they charged me $30 more per hour. the owner said my quote was a mistake.they charge a outrageous amount for supplies and wrapping furniture and charged me a $30 fuel charge to drive 2.5 miles. Horrible experience, do not ever use these people
