Working with Bill at Smooth was pleasant enough. Over the phone we went through the belongings in my entire house (which I had already documented) and I was given my estimate. The movers arrived on the scheduled date with a truck that was obviously too small. I had already told Bill the size truck that was used when I moved to IL and that estimation was ignored. The movers had to bring a second truck and they still couldn't fit everything on the two trucks and I had to give away patio furniture as well as a red wagon and water table that belonged to my grandson. The people that packed the trucks at my origination were pleasant. I packed all the boxes myself and they disassembled and packed the large items and furniture. It takes approximately 12 hours to drive from IL to MD and I was told I would have the same crew. I did not. Not only that, but they unpacked the two trucks (which were packed with care and well) and put all of my belongings on a second larger truck. When the movers arrived at my place in Frederick, 5 days later than expected, it was obvious the same amount of care was not taken with my belongings. Most of my wardrobe boxes were crushed and furniture and the craftsman toolbox were severely damaged. The movers that arrived in Maryland were rude. The foreman was irritated with me because of the amount of items that had to be removed from the truck (ummm, wasn't that already known?) and the fact that he had to call in a couple more staff to help. They arrived with TWO people and when they packed the truck at the origination they had a team of FIVE. I am not sure where they made the mathematical mistake, but they did. The crew delivering my items were not careful, did not want to have to put the boxes in the designated rooms or re-assemble the furniture. By the way, at the destination, I took,care to draw pictures of where I wanted the furniture, the names of the rooms to match those on the boxes and I hung each diagram on each room and oriented them when they arrived. One bed that was damaged was damaged because they tried to take off an unremoveable piece before packing it, breaking it in the process. That is a whole queen sized storage bed less than a year old now looking like something we picked up at a garage sale. They were unable to reassemble the beds (they didn't know how) and the moving company had to send someone out days later to put them together. The boxes that were labeled kitchen/dishpack/fragile were thrown around on the truck and I had several items broken. Two of the movers that were helping left at the end of the night. They said goodbye to me and left. When the foreman was about to leave, I reminded him that the furniture still had to be re-assembled and there was a refrigerator in the middle of my family room that needed to be moved into a storage area. Smooth life savers

We needed to be picked up in 2 days and no one I spoke with could get it done. Well 2 or 3 companies could do it but they were charging me a "last minute reservation fee" of $1200. Finally I found Bill with Smooth who did not charge me as much and was able to get me picked up last minute. These guys are professionals and they are life savers. I highly recommend them especially that they told me last minute moves are no big deal for them.

Wow! Great service

I have never written a review before but felt it necessary. The service I received was amazing. From the start your employee George Cook treated me respectfully and made my move to be of the utmost importance. He was very personable,made me laugh and got the job done! The whole experience put me at ease and I thank George and the team!!!!

Our new home

I still believe in communication for making any dealings between a business and a client convenient. As a businessman, I have heavily invested in the same. I found the same when dealing with Smooth Relocation Vanlines. That was indication enough that they cherish their clients and want the best for them. It all started with the support staff who gave the details about commercial relocation that the company was offering. I was then transferred to the coordinator who would oversee my move from start to finish. He was asking the right questions, and I did my best to give the right answers. All my items were delivered without any damages.

Wonderful Relocation Service

The only reason why I decided to write about a company like this one is because they did a wonderful job. Smooth Relocation Vanlines moved me a week ago and did an amazing job. From the moment I spoke to Mike and scheduled my appointment till when Alex unloaded my last piece of furniture everything went smoothly. They were on time, everything went nice and easy with my building, my furniture, these guys were friendly and professional, and to top it off they were reasonably priced. Thank you again guys.

Super People

They were such a pleasure! These guys did a great job on my move from start to finish. Jason and Bob were both very professional and hard working. George, my representative was on the ball ever step of the way and answered all my questions and I asked a lot lol. They were very careful with the furniture and also watched all the walls moving in. All fees were explained up front and were very reasonable. From front office to movers this is a well run company. I will use them again and recommend to everyone I know.

Too Much Glass Stuff Ha Ha Ha

When I was moving from Chicago to Houston I was pretty worried about some delicate glassware that would be difficult to replace. I was looking for a company with experience in delicate things. Smooth really came through for me. They were responsive to all of my concerns, and they competently moved my belongings without any damage at all. I was really impressed by their friendliness and attention to detail. I would recommend them to anyone. You can rest easy while they take care of your move.

Once Again

I arrived home pretty late and I didn't have much time to organize my stuff the same night. The guys did not even allow me to touch anything. They told me they were paid to do it and therefore I should relax. Each of them was diligent, including their leader. They were also very nice and committed to their work. I bet you, this is the best moving company you can ever find in the Mid-West. Their organizational skills were exceptional. The movers came quite early to the time we scheduled and apologized for coming too early. I was happy with their respectable, courteous and friendly working pattern. Our stuff was moved fast and efficiently. I must say thank you for the help you guys rendered. You are truly great guys.

Big Move for me

I found this company by word of mouth and they gave me a pretty good quote for 2 trucks door to door, moving kitchen equipment, bedroom and living room furniture from Chicago to Dallas TX. The driver had three movers with him, and they had everything packed and ready to go inside of 6 hours. They handled my belongings carefully, and had boxes of packing peanuts and foam to secure my furniture to the nines. Between the move from the old house to the new house, everything was professional and easy, all my belongings were delivered in pretty immaculate condition, the same way they left Chicago. Workmen were polite and yes, I would use them again.

I move too much

So for more than two decades that I’ve been using relocation companies, the majority of times I have ended up being disappointed. Sometimes the crews that I’ve worked with have demonstrated inadequate skills in handling people’s property, others do not have the right attitude towards work and yet others have damaged my things. However, I didn’t experience any of these problems when I moved from Wisconsin to Washington with Smooth. They gave me the best experience I’ve ever had with a professional mover and I recommend them through and through.

Expensive Furniture Relo

Finding a good moving company proved too be a frustrating experience. After talking to many different people at various places, I narrowed down my search to 3 companies. I decided to go with Smooth Relo even though they were not the lowest quote that I received. They were always accessible by phone and my e-mails were always answered. My rep George told me he would be with me every step of the way and he was. I have valuable antiques and designer furniture. I opted to go with their "white glove service." I am disabled and could not pack my belongings. They arrived on time, packed everything to my specifications and I have to say, I was amazed at their speed and the lengths they went to make sure everything was properly packed and color coded. My things arrived in perfect condition and they did help me unpack for an extra charge. I have no complaints except that they were half hour late for delivery. Definitely recommend them, no dollar surprises and no damage to items. I did tip them for their professionalism that they exhibited. I'll use them again for sure.

Worth It

The family and I were very pleased with the professional team from Smooth Relocation that helped us move. They took the time to carefully pack our belongings and damage was minimal if anything at all because my son packed some boxes like an animal ha ha ha. They were able to navigate difficult and narrow spaces with agility and were always respectful and hard working which is rare these days. I recommend others in the Chicago area (or any other for that matter) to consider Smooth for all your moving needs. I made mistakes in the past with cheap prices and never again, they are worth every red cent

Called several places for estimates, but hadn’t ‘clicked’ with any of the others as I had with Smooth Relo—very polite and professional staff. Their estimate proved to be very reasonable and right-on-the-nose, so I decided to give them a try, was very glad that I did. Moved with my fiance and the service was incredible. I'm so happy, I honestly didn't have to do anything because moving is not my thing lol. Bill was a doll and really helped me get the best service. My Mom's Move

I used Smooth Relocation to move my mother from Illinois to Florida, she is 82 and last time she moved was about 36 years ago so that was going to be a challenge for her. I need to say it was much better then I expected and that is a big thanks for the good people at Smooth, pretty much everything was smooth (Pun intended) my mom got all her items on time no damages. Moving Back Home

I researched a lot of companies before I decided to go with Smooth Relocation Vanlines for my long, overdue move back home to NJ. They were so professional and kinda from the very first contact until delivery. I used many companies in the past but this one is by far the best in every regards. Absolutely no problems with my items being damaged or lost. The delivery truck was on time and the movers were very professional and polite at both ends of the process. Stress Free :)

When my husband had accepted a job in Nevada, I was left to pack up and move a 4 bedroom house in Chicago. When I had called Smooth relocation, they were very kind and understanding of the overwhelming feelings I was having. Billy walked me through everything I needed to do to make this a successful move. Three gentlemen arrived on time the day of the move. They were well mannered and very kind. They worked all day without a break making sure that everything was protected and scratch free and packed in the truck. On the delivery, I was told the day before how much the balance was and when they would be there. That crew of three arrived on time. They were mannerly and very kind also. From start to finish I had complete confidence in the movers and my Move Coordinator Juan who I trusted from the outset. Having considered a number of quotations from several companies, I went with Smooth as George's quote was reasonable, flexible and professional. From pre-move we had all the information we needed without having to chase for it. On the day the team were friendly and professional. Our boxes arrived a week later as requested and all is intact. Moved my family and I down to Florida, everything was just so great. From the beginning it went smoothly, no pun intended :) But truly a blessing to have these people get us to our new place in life. After my job needed me at a different location I picked the help of Smooth Relocation and they proved to be really professional and efficient. They came on time, packed up my place fast and delivered everything safe and sound. The price was held to the dime, and no extra charges or unwanted surprises appeared at the last minute! Fast Move

On moving day they came on time, they packed efficiently, and left on time. It was a long trip, about a 500 miles trip. They came in afterwards to unload, guys came in and put everything back together. They were very friendly. I did have them pack up my boxes and glass items but they did wrap all the furniture, they wrapped everything very securely and there weren't any scratches like my last move. Good Job!

Very Good

I would highly recommended them because we had such a very good experience with this company. I Called and spoke with Billy. He gave me the price over the phone, since I didn't have time for in-house estimation. Four guys came in the morning, had all necessary packing materials and equipment, very professional and competent. They finished job late afternoon, and honestly speaking, I was surprised that it could be done so fast. The price was well within what I was expecting. When the guys left, I got a call from Billy, asking me if I was satisfied with their service. I would, definitely recommend this company for those , who want to get fast, professional and satisfactory service.

Third Move With Them

I have shipped a few items down once a month to my new home in Texas and these guys are just amazing. My furniture is very expensive(the wife) and we were worried about things getting damaged. Every time things came in tact and on time like promised. I have moved over 20 times in my life and they really give me the service I need in times of stress. The shipmet was very late.

The first this is that the time wasn't met. it was 4 or 5 days late. I was told that I would get it on the 2nd of February, but it was delivered on the 8th of February. I had to go through the pains you know, of those 6 days.

Arrived Early

The movers from Smooth Relocation were supposed to arrive at 10 am to move our belongings. But they actually arrived early which was so great. Anyway, the movers came and started packing everything immediately. They took inventory of all my belongings and put labels on each box. The glass end tables were delicately packed into boxes and they used a lot of tapes to secure them. They carried all the furniture with care. At delivery they put everything exactly where they were supposed to go. It was an incredibly easy move.

Can't Say Enough

I could not say enough to thank these guys for what they have done for us. We used Smooth Relocation twice already and it's amazing every time. Their sales rep was very responsive and attentive. He answered all our questions no matter when we called and explained the entire moving process in detail. The estimated price seemed very reasonable and the moving plan seemed flawless. Their 4 men team showed up on time and did their work effortlessly. I was worried about my valuables and delicate stuffs but nothing was damaged during the move and I got everything in one piece. It was great that they have met the deadline and kept the moving cost within the estimated amount. Obviously recommendation for this company is well deserved.

It was my first time using Smooth Relocation Vanlines and I am more than satisfied with them. They came to my apartment on time and packed everything very fast. They brought all the necessary equipment and wrapped my furniture very carefully. On moving day, Juan arrived to my apartment with two friendly workers and started moving all my stuff. They did not even take any breaks!!! They worked really hard and moved my stuff in a few hours. I am really more than satisfied with their service. They are a very professional team. Such a Pleasure

The crews are among the finest people I’ve met in a long time. They never had an issues answering any concern I had. The workers did everything to accommodate my demand. They treated my belongings with respect. They were like a one stop shop. You just need to get in and the rest will be done for you. They didn't let me raise a finger when they were working hard to load up my items. My two bed rooms, kitchen, and all my stuff were relocated to my new home without damage. Put my family at ease

Like many other Americans in the last few years, life hit us real hard and we ended up in foreclosure. We were trying to relocate thru my wife's work and we thought we were set to go until the movers we were instructed to use could not show up. I looked for help on the Internet to find someone who could help us last minute and that is when I got a call from Derrick at Smooth. I told Derrick about our situation and he was very understanding. They are the actual moving company and he had a truck to our house within a day. We needed full packing and they came in and packed us up. We didn't have a place to live yet but Smooth Relocation went ahead and stored all of our things until we could secure a new home. I think a lot of companies could have taken advantage of the fact we were over a barrel with our first moving company falling through at the last minute. Derrick was patient with us from start to finish. I can't do them justice in this one review but they really are a Mom n Pop company and we were amazed they got our things down to our destination so fast. The movers were professional, they can pack every inch of a truck, they wrapped all our furniture and made sure they specially wrapped things like the TV. The other company we were supposed to use was one of the major carriers and they had quoted us close to $5,000 more. Smooth knew the company was paying for this and could have probably padded their fees a little bit but obviously they didn't. The move ended up only costing $6,500 and we had a 3 bedroom home with a den and plenty of furniture. Save yourself a lot of time and aggravation, this is a terrific company and I would recommend them to anyone.
