Do Not Use These Crooks

Their website portrays they are an established and reputable mover, however, there is a ton of deception, dishonesty and should be put out of business and prosecuted. They are responsive and professional until they get a signed agreement and deposit from you. After that, they do not return calls, are dishonest, give you the run around and do not get you your property until you consistently hassle them.The scheduled pickup was late, wasting my entire day waiting for them. After loading the truck, they try to tell you your items take more space than contracted for, and will try to charge you more. The move is not done by Virgin Van Lines, but Brokered and the movers arrive in a rented truck. Despite the website stating they have a fleet of trucks and numerous locations, they only have one truck and operate out of Northern California and a Van Nuys PO box. I was not able to substantiate any true physical location of the business in either Northern or Southern California.When they pickup your itmes, they short you on industry required paperwork (they make you sign, but conveniently do not provide you a copy of a number of pages, which detail Terms and Conditions, Claims, etc. You only determine they are missing after they leave). Because they Broker the move, they will Not Schedule Delivery Until They Can Fill A Truck Going Your Direction. In my case, they did not even deliver the items. I had to pick them up at a local storage facility (and after much hassle). 2 pieces of furniture had broken legs and another so damaged, it is not worth repairing. I also had one box missing, which had some family memoirs. Additionally, their claim company is a joke, only has voicemail, and good luck getting any money from them. The owner, Danny Shova,l is a crook and will not return phone calls. He is a one man operation and will try to portray other people (you can tell by his tone of voice and caller ID). The company is not certified by the organizations they portray on their website (AMSA certified, etc). The list of dishonesty and fraud goes on and on. If you are moving long distance, the apparent savings in using such a mover is just not worth it. You will end up spending as much or more by the time you replace lost and damaged goods, etc, without all the headaches. Tell anyone you know who plans to move, NOT to use this company.

Stolen Mattress, Terrible Communication

I absolutely DO NOT recommend working with this company under any circumstance. Read this review and save yourself the money, the headaches and the lost items. The other reviews are 100% correct and we sincerely are trying to save you the experience that we've already been through. For starters, my wife and I were moving to Houston from Sacramento and our move date was June 30. I got a call the day before the move to see if I could move the date to July 1 because they absolutely wouldn't be able to make it on the 30th. Reluctantly, I complied. They then showed up 2 hours late on July 1. During the move, the movers stacked boxes too tall outside of the truck and they eventually fell over. A box spring, standing upright in the street also fell over and was damaged. At this point, I saw some loose pieces in the truck that turned out to be part of a bed frame and a futon. If I didn't get in the truck and pick them up myself, they probably wouldn't have made the trip to my place in Texas. A cabinet was also completely damaged upon the load-in to the truck. After everything was loaded in, the price of our estimate more than doubled with a not very scientific guesstimate of cubic footage by the lead mover. All of our items were packed into the truck and we assumed were on the way to Texas. Mary, the woman who secured my business, told me that our belongings would be in Texas in 4-14 days. That seemed reasonable to me. After inquiring when our belongings were going to arrive, I was told around July 18 and then around July 23. After 14 days had passed with no delivery or update, both days came and went. On July 24, I got in touch with the dispatcher/manager Danny and he told me that my belongings had not even left California. For 23 days, our things sat in some warehouse and no one told me. After July 24, I reached out daily to Danny to figure out when my things would arrive in Texas or at least be on the road en route. Danny rarely answered the phone and rarely returned phone calls when he said he would. On August 5, Danny said our things would be in Houston on August 8. They eventually showed up on August 10, but our king size TempurPedic mattress was missing. Alan, who unloaded the truck in Houston, signed a document saying the mattress was missing but later told Danny that he had delivered the mattress. From August 10 until September 5, I went back and forth with Danny, Shawn (the guy who loaded the truck in Sacramento) and Alan (the guy who unloaded the truck in Houston) to figure out where the biggest item we owned had vanished. No one had an answer and the three began to pass blame to each other. They eventually stopped answering my phone calls. On to the claims process. Bad experience and damaged furniture

Basically damage happened because they were rolling chairs down the damaged staircase, damaged the chairs when they unloaded, they didn't put blankets on things and they were just really adamant about wanting money before they did anything. I got them a cashier's check but that wasn't good, they wanted a money order from the post office, it was just a joke, the whole thing was ridiculous. I have damaged furniture now in storage and I have to call them and they told me to turn it over to the insurance company. Just bad attitudes all the way around. I told everyone about the damage, but they just kept telling me the insurance would handle it and there was nothing they could do about it.

Disappointing experience

The move was not so good. Initially, they fixed the move date and those guys didn't turn up and the same day I was flying back to New Jersey from California. So I had to leave my stuff there and asked my friend to coordinate with them. Their price was fine though and whoever delivered the stuff over here, they were good guys.

Not at all a good experience

I had a chip out of the front of my dressers. They broke the leg of my desk. They probably took paint off one of my walls.We had just bought a brand new office chair. It has rips and tears and all kinds of damage to it. It was brand new. Everything that we had was less than four or five months old. They were brand new. I tried to call them about it. I called about chips in the walls. They said they have to talk to the drivers. I never got the response back. I have to call one place about the lost vacuum and they never responded for that. I guess I am supposed to call their center for things that have been damaged. They are not going to do anything about it. They delivered my furniture and they are done. That is a very bad experience. We have moved probably nine times professionally because my husband got transferred a lot with his job. And I never got this kind of experience before. I knew they had damaged the walls. Then they wanted to put everybody else's stuff on the truck and get out of here as fast as they could. We had two beds - wood-frame beds - they were supposed to put together that was part of the contract that they have with me. And they did not put them together. I think they actually had my vacuum with them. I was so busy trying to get everything straight, see what was damaged and everything else. My vacuum was sitting there. My husband was sitting there and the three loaded the vacuum on the truck. It was not a good experience.

My furniture is missing

It was alright. It was very inexpensive. So I wasn't expecting much when they did the move. My dresser - I never received my dresser. So I lost a piece and also two other pieces of my furniture. The legs that they took off - I never got the legs. So I got two half pieces of furniture, no dresser, and they broke my trunk a little bit. They kept lying to me about what time they were coming. I was just trying to plan my schedule with my business, and work and everything. They kept telling me they were coming at a certain time and then they would put it off a week or a day. It wasn't a disastrous thing but I didn't get my things. Wasn't expecting too much for the price, so....

Bad experience

I had to file a claim. They overcharged us a little bit, which was expected because they added some stuff but they didn't come back with some stuff. They were missing some stuff. So it wasn't very good. I had to file a claim with them. They were very unprofessional. They explained it to me and I made sure I had everything covered. The way they told me it was going to go down, it didn't go down. They ended up adding to the price. I had missing stuff and I had some missing furniture. They said they couldn't find it. I am not happy with them at all.

Worst Company ever. Arrived Late, ...

They quote a low price and then add fees, and since you wouldn't have time to get another mover at that time you just have to pay it. Add at least 600 dollars to any quote they give you. This will not be cheaper than a POD or UHAUL or other container Movers. We only had a one bedroom apartment (not much stuff at all) all packed and ready to go. They took 6 hours to move it out. I could have done it myself in 2 hours. They LOST 3 boxes, 1 mirror, Bed frame, and tore open a box to STEAL my wife's jewelry. The boxes that did arrive were completely destroyed. They will deliver it 21 "Business days" from your availability date. That is over 4 weeks. So put your availability the day they pick up your stuff. Trust me.. they will be late. they took a total of 28 days to deliver our stuff. If you want to pay a lot of money to have your items lost, be treated poorly, and have to deal with an incompetent man like Danny... Go for it at your own risk. But if I were you I would look somewhere else.

Horrible Company Horrible Owner Horrible Personnel Horrible Service NO delivery, no explanation, no communication, total lack of integrity and interest. ***ALL the positive reviews here on this sight were written in house by their personnel. DO NOT believe them, do NOT entrust your possessions to them - RUN to any other company and it would be better!

Always On TIme!

We have used Virgin Van Lines for 2 moves now between CA and FL. Their service has been friendly, courteous and always on time. They have accommodated special needs like multiple location pickup and delivery with never a complaint. The most recent time they couldn't get the truck past a tree blocking the driveway so they went away, packed our stuff onto a smaller truck and came back the same day and delivered our stuff. No questions asked. We will use Virgin Van Lines again for our next move for sure.

The movers and the sales guy of Virgin van Lines left me with no other options but to recommend them. I have used Virgin Van Lines few weeks ago for a 2 bed room apartment move. I contracted with Virgin Van Lines to move my husband and I from CA to FL. I called them based on reviews from this and other review websites. I spoke with Sam, who was very helpful and pointed out some things on the department of transportation website to guide us. We packed our boxes and let Virgin Van Lines team handle the rest. I am very pleased with their service and the driver, Dino, especially. This is my 4th move in my life but 1st in the past 15 years. I am very thankful they did a great job for me. FIRST OFF, THE MOVERS WERE FIRST RATE WHO CAME TO GET MY WIFES STUFF FOR A CORPORATE MOVE, HARD WORKING AND HONEST. EVERYONE GOT UNDERWAY SMOOTHLY AT FIRST, COMMUNICATION WAS GREAT UP TO THE POINT OF THE CORPORATE CHECK FOR THE MOVE BEING PAID, BUT SINCE THEN...WHOOOSH!!! OUR CONTACT HAS VANISHED!!! Fake Positive Reviews - Avoid at all ...

Take some time to read the 5 star reviews on this site. You'll notice a pattern and they all look suspiciously fake. Decide for yourself. I have written negative reviews about this company on multiple sites. That's how strongly I feel about this company. Beware! Almost everyone I have spoken to at Virgin Van Lines was friendly and did their best to answer my questions and address my concerns. But from here it's all downhill. - My items took almost 2 months before it arrived. (they said it would be 5-10 business days) - When my items arrived I was missing 5 different boxes. - All my items arrived in terrible condition. The boxes showed obvious signs of abuse and neglect. - Throughout the entire process my phone calls with Virgin Van Lines ranged from friendly, raging lunatic, to absolute disgust. - The folks I worked with were Julie Robinson, Michelle, Carri (supervisor), Danny (dispatch guy). - Danny doesn't know anything. He has lied to me so many times that I stopped counting after my 5th phone call. He says it'll arrive by X and when it doesn't happen he gives another date, again and again. I ask him where my items are and he says New Jersey, the next time it's in Pennsylvania, and so the story goes. The fact is, Virgin Van Lines is one of hundreds of moving companies out there that outsource their work to subcontractors with an extremely high turnover rate. These subcontractors don't care about your items and customer service doesn't exist. Please take the time to choose a reliable moving company. Wonderful Experience!

After all the research it was nice to find a trusted and experienced moving company to move me from CA to New Mexico. During my research all of the other moving company estimates were too high, Virgin Van Lines was the only company with an affordable price. Once the workers came to my house to move me they packed all of my belongings for me with no additional charges. The price I was quoted on the phone did not change. Orons crew was very professional and worked very quickly, they were in and out. I just want to thank Virgin Van Lines for the wonderful experience they provided me with my move.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!! PLEASE DO ...

I SPOKE WITH SAM, SHE GAVE ME A QUOTE FOR A 2 BEDROOM APARTMENT TO MOVE IT ACROSS STATE SHE SAID IT WOULD BE $1,400.00 WHEN THE MOVERS GOT TO THE APT I WAS TOLD I WAS GIVEN A QUOTE NOT THE ACTUAL PRICE WHICH WAS $2,800.00 AND THIS WAS AFTER THEY WERE 4 (FOUR) HOURS LATE AND THE REASON GIVEN WAS BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC, A TOTAL OF 4 (FOUR) HOURS OF BEING IN TRAFFIC I COULD HAVE WALKED THE ITEMS TO NEW ORLEANS, ANYWAY AS STATED I NEEDED TO MOVE SOMEONE WHO IS VERY ILL WANTED THE FURNITURE TRANSPORTED SO I COULD ATTEND TO THE PERSON WHO IS ILL...SAM STATED NO PROBLEM THE WORKERS WILL BE THEIR ON TIME AS I STATED TO HER I WAS ON A TIGHT TIME FRAME AS I NEED TO MAKE THE NECESSARY CONNECTIONS TO MAKE SURE MY LOVED ONE GOT TO NEW ORLEANS ALIVE..... Virgin Van Lines Took Allot Stress off ...

Virgin Van Lines moved me from CA to SC. The Moving crew showed up in a Virgin Van Lines truck, and wearing Virgin Van Lines hats and uniform's as promised "was not brokered out" also when I got my delivery and un-packed and everything was there and nothing was broken. My "flat rate price" was just that I was told the move was going to be. I want to thank Virgin Van Lines and especially my salesman Sam for being an honest, upfront, and really taking allot of the stress off my move and making sure everything went well which it did!

I accepted a job offer and hired Virgin Van Line to move me. I got their information from this site because last time I moved, I filled out an application online and had too many movers calling me. I checked out the reviews for this company on this site and other sites as well and they seemed really good. I was given a very good price and it was similar to the amount I paid last time I moved since I still have the same items for the exception of some new stuff. Sam the rep was so honest and knowledgeable. I like that every little concern I had she addressed and made sure it is not an issue. Thank you so much for doing such an outstanding job!

Stolen Items! Do Not Use This Company

Some of my packages to be delivered were searched through and items were stolen. Also an entire package is missing and was not delivered. I booked Virgin Van Lines online to move my household items from Washington state to Alabama. Two of their movers picked up my items. The actual truck that they used to pick up my items was a Budget truck and not a "Virgin Van Lines" marked truck. When I asked why, the driver said because the 18-wheeler would not fit in the apartment complex. Mary (1-800-790-5405 EXT. 106), relocation agent of Virgin Van Lines provided my estimate. I have paid a total of $1213, plus an initial $25 cash tip given to the pick up driver at the time. On Wednesday 5/22/2013 another driver, calling himself "Jacob" delivered my items to Alabama He was driving a red 18-wheeler with white trailer. There were no markings saying Virgin Van Lines. The dispatch person goes by "Danny" (provides phone # 1-408-500-6602), but shows up as 1-818-982-2579 on caller ID. However Mary refers to the dispatch person as being "Dave" and provides the same phone # 1-408-500-6602. This can be verified per email correspondence. I also have voicemail messages from him referring to himself as "Danny." I believe it's likely "Dave" and "Danny" are the same person. All these people have foreign, possibly Mexican accents. When I started to discover my items were searched through and some missing, I asked the delivery driver Jacob about it, and he initially denied it w as possible. Then he said it w asn't him, and that it probably happened at the warehouse. Even before I realized items were missing, I noticed most of the boxes had been opened and poorly retaped. Before I said anything, he already was explaining the condition of my boxes being due to "poor packing" w hich was a red flag because I hadn't said anything. I also have over eight years experience w ith packing, shipping, and warehouse merchandising myself. My items w ere well packed, and well taped. Even some of the items security taped and placed inside boxes had apparently been searched through. At one point the driver even brought someone else's box of belongings (clothes) inside, but I informed him that those items did not belong to me. He returned the box the the trailer. He told me to call the company before he left. I called Mary, who transferred me to the dispatch person. I believe that was "Dave" or "Danny." I told him my boxes had been opened and rummaged through and items were missing. Even a lock I had on one suitcase was completely missing, indicating they somehow removed the lock to search through it as well. I said I was going to call the police and they insisted that I not do that, which is a red flag to me. They did not want any police involved at all. Too bad I had already paid and signed the delivery papers. As I w as calling the local Police Dept., Jacob was leaving. danger....beware.....do not use this company, bait and switch they come to pick up your home using a uhaul truck to pick up your home tell you it's just getting picked up this way and that their delivery truck and crew will deliver it to the new location....that's a lie! THEN THEY JOB OUT YOUR HOME TO ANOTHER COMPANY.. they scam you on packing, The day of pick up they tell you everything must get wrapped and charge you an extra 800.00 ...but if you give them 300.00 cash they will discount it to only 200.00 extra. The other big scam here is the insurance if you don't buy the top tear of the insurance they make sure your delivery is destroyed. Our home came to us soaking wet, damaged and destroyed, we also payed an extra 150.00 for motorcycle handling both of the headlights were broken off and six dents in the gas tank. We have incurred far more in damages then what they charged us to move us. IF YOU READ A POSITIVE REVIEW I WOULDN'T BELIEVE IT.

Worst experience ever

They are the worst company to ever use. I never would recommend them nor will I use them ever again. I have moved in the past and I never had my things done to it the way they did. When you call them up first thing that comes out is that customer service is their number one. Their customer service suck. They never called me to let me know what was gonna happen with my things. They went to my niece's house and just started packing things that shouldn't have been packed the way it did. Boxes weren't taped, boxes were torn by the time they got to me. Everytime I contacted them just to see exactly whereabouts of my things. They never contacted me back nor give a straight answer. They overcharged me 50 cubic square footage on my things. I had everything in a 5 by 7 and that only took up half of that storage. With that being said they over charged me. I called them about the packing because I never authorized them to do anything. All they did was they just started packing the stuff and turned around and told my niece, this is how much it is gonna cost you. Never told her its going to cost extra for this or that. They just went there and did whatever they wanted to do to my things. And, then explained to my niece after packing and loading it up to the truck.

I moved my entire home from N. Hollywood CA to NYC due to a job offer. I knew that I was going to spend a good amount of money relocating but it was something that I had to do. Virgin Van Lines gave me a VERY reasonable price. The quote that I received didn’t change on the move date or upon delivery, Stephan the Forman and his crew were very careful with my stuff; not a single thing was broken (and I had packed it all up).

Worst movers ever

I was quoted a price stating the price would not exceed what I was quoted and it did. I was told that I could pay one way but then was told I had to pay 3 different ways. I called and spoke to the Dispatcher Danny who would argue with me each time I talked to him and he actually hung up on me twice and he told me I pissed him off. Regardless if I made him mad or not, a company with good customer service would never say something like that to a customer. I was also told that the owner of the company was Dave Show and found out that the owner is actually the same person I spoke to who is the Dispatcher, how sad is that. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone.
